NIIT Botswana

NIIT Botswana was launched in 1997, with the mission of "Bringing People and Computers Together ... Successfully". NIIT Botswana is a franchisee of NIIT Ltd, Asia's No.1 trainer and leading Global Talent Development Corporation and is the largest IT training and Education institution in the country with over 3,500 students. In the last decade, NIIT has trained a large number of Botswana citizens in Information Technology under the DNIIT Diploma program and various certificate and short term corporate courses.


The DNIIT Diploma is articulated to many international University degree courses. The Open University of the United Kingdom has entered into a collaborative teaching partnership with NIIT to offer the BSc Computing and its Practice (Hons) Top Up Degree.   The program duration is 12 months and is offered at NIIT Botswana to students who have completed the Open University credit rated DNIIT (Hons) diploma.


NIIT operates in three locations within Botswana: in Gaborone, Francistown and in Maun. The new state of art campus in Gaborone "Botho Education Park" was opened in January 2008 in a very scenic location in Kgale. The institution has a very strong focus on "Quality" and "Employability" of its graduates
Presently the institution has over 210 staff of which about 140 are academic staff. NIIT was institutionally accredited by the Tertiary Education Council (TEC) in July 2006 programs offered by the institution are also accredited by the Botswana Training Authority (BOTA). With a brand new campus in Gaborone and over 2000 computers and laptops, the institution is poised to become a regional centre of excellence in technology education.
